Move for Malawi in Smithers
What a day we had in Smithers for Move for Malawi! Under the blazing sun, we hiked up Malkow Lookout—sweaty, smiling, and definitely feeling what our friends in Malawi experience as they trek kilometres to work each day. It gave us a whole new appreciation for their daily journey.
The views from the top of the Bulkley Valley were absolutely stunning—totally worth the climb! And the best part? We wrapped it all up with a mouthwatering BBQ dinner, sweet desserts, and a great conversation about the incredible work happening at Mitongwe.
Huge thanks to the amazing Smithers crew—you absolutely rocked it! We’re so grateful for your energy, generosity, and heart.
Move for Malawi in South Surrey
We hosted our second Move for Malawi event in South Surrey, and it was an incredible day with a fantastic turnout. As we walked through Crescent Park, we reflected on the daily journeys our Malawian friends make to reach the Farm—treks that span several kilometres, often under intense heat and through mosquito-filled terrain.
While we encountered plenty of mosquitoes ourselves, they served as a gentle reminder of the challenges our friends face—except in Malawi, those bites carry the real threat of malaria. It was a humbling experience that brought us closer to their reality, even if just for a moment.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated, rallied their family and friends, or gave sacrificially of themselves. Your commitment made all the difference.
We’re also thrilled to share that the Coram Deo Foundation matched donations with a generous gift of $27,000 — bringing us to our total of…
$86,418.00!
Together, we’ve made a lasting impact. Thank you for being part of this journey.
