Hurray for Blessed Worship Time!
Carol reports, "We had a beautiful time yesterday sharing God’s Word right at our workstations, surrounded by nature. It felt like heaven touched earth — the trees, the breeze, even the birds joined our worship.”
“Yesterday, each of us worshipped from different stations—and without planning, we all sang the same songs. What a beautiful reminder that God weaves harmony even when we can’t see the thread. He truly is amazing in all His ways.”
Hurray for Soccer!
The Soccer Friendlies continue with surrounding community clubs and teams. This is Kingsley’s account of another great event…
“Mitongwe Soccer Academy welcomed Kandeu Soccer Academy. Kandeu is located approximately 15km from Mitongwe. They arrived around 10 AM, allowing time to relax and bond before the match. The event kicked off at 1 PM with a prayer and an inspiring talk, followed by the Word and then the soccer games. The girls played first and tied all matches, while the boys triumphed with a score of 2-1. We are grateful to God for the opportunity to share His love and hope with these young people.”
We are grateful for you and your team, too, Kingsley.
Hurray for Amazing Staff and Stories!
My name is Andrew. Today marks exactly one year since I joined Mitongwe Woodland Reserve as an Agriculture and Food Science Technician — a journey that has shaped me in ways I could never have imagined.
When I started, I was entrusted with managing our 36 community gardens project, working hand in hand with young soccer coaches to grow not just crops, but dreams and livelihoods. From tending seedlings to harvesting hope, I grew alongside these gardens — learning, failing, getting up again, and becoming stronger.
With time, I stepped into the role of Agroforestry Technician, deepening my relationship with the land and nature. Mitongwe is not just a training centre; it is a home — a place that has nurtured me professionally, personally, and spiritually. I am no longer the Andrew I was before stepping onto this soil. Here, I have learned to lead, to listen, to work with people from all walks of life — both local and international — and to see mistakes not as failures, but as lessons.
Mitongwe has groomed me into a young leader and reminded me that spiritually, I am no longer a slave to fear or doubt. Working with nature every day has given me a new sense of purpose and freedom. To me, Mitongwe is more than a farm — it’s a sanctuary. A home. A place I will forever cherish.
I am a proud farmer and a steward of nature. And I can’t wait to keep growing — for myself, for my community, and our shared home, the earth. Here’s to many more years of learning, leading, and living in harmony with nature.
Hurray for Movie Nights and Staff Fun!
Our staff enjoyed a Movie Night under the stars. Such an incredible event. At first, they saw themselves on the big screen when a “farm film” was made about them at work! Then, a feature film with popcorn and firelight. We would all love that!
