Growing Harvest, Health & Hope
There is a beautiful, busy energy sweeping through Mitongwe this May! From solar panels rising to power our new irrigation system, to tractors piled high with freshly harvested hibiscus, God is moving powerfully through this land. We are stepping into this new season full of joy, and we are deeply grateful for your faithful support. Thank you for ‘Standing as One’ with us and making these stories of hope possible.
Living Water Project
Our newest Living Water Project is officially underway. The team has begun installing the solar panel stands that will support the panels powering our inline pump. This pump will draw water from the borehole into a 200,000‑litre water bladder, creating a steady, reliable water source. From there, the water will move through our irrigation system to nourish the crops that feed families in our programs and supply our dehydration factory. This water will also help multiply trees, seeds, and grasses that we can share with surrounding communities as they work to restore their land. This system will bring life, stability, and long-term sustainability to our community.
Heaps of Hibiscus and So Much Goodness
It’s hibiscus harvest time, and we’ve got loads of it! From the field to the tractor to the factory, we process and dry every petal. The dried hibiscus becomes tea, cold drinks, tinctures, ointments, and soap, so many uses and so many benefits in one amazing plant. Additionally, we dry the leaves and feed them to our cattle, which are rich in minerals and vitamins, helping to keep our herd healthy and strong.
From Fragile to Flourishing
When little Patience came to our Health and Wellness Center on January 18th, she was underweight, and her mother couldn’t breastfeed. Born on August 3rd, 2025, she needed urgent support, and we were able to start her on Lactogen through our Baby Feeding Program. Seeing her last month, healthy, bright, and thriving, filled our hearts with joy. We praise God for the donors who make miracles like this possible.
Training That Transforms Communities
With support from the LBS Grant in Switzerland, we continue to pour into agroforestry training. Each 3‑day workshop, taught in the local language, brings together 10 to 15 eager participants. Our trainers have grown so skilled and confident, and the feedback has been incredible. People are leaving inspired, equipped, and ready to start their own agroforestry plots, bringing hope, food, and a future back to their communities.
Inspired at Mitongwe
When Emmie and her two sons visited Mitongwe, they were filled with excitement and inspiration. From the dehydrators to the citrus groves, papayas, turmeric, and even the possibilities of wood vinegar, every part of the visit sparked new ideas for their own land. But the moment that touched Emmie most came during morning devotion, when she and her sons were prayed over and blessed. She described it as emotional, comforting, and a powerful reminder that “God remembers me too.” As someone who prays over visitors at her own orphanage, she experienced that same love, making the visit unforgettable. They left inspired, grateful, and already planning their return.
