Sports Ministry

Our Sports Ministry, run in partnership with Team Up Canada, is led by two dedicated coaches who pour their passion and experience into every session. What begins on the soccer field quickly becomes much more than learning how to pass, dribble, or score. As the boys train, they are also being mentored in character, discipline, and leadership. Our coaches intentionally weave life lessons into each practice—teaching respect, teamwork, responsibility, and perseverance. Alongside soccer skills, the boys also receive training in English, farming, and other practical skills that help shape them into confident, capable young leaders. Through this program, we are not only developing athletes but investing in the next generation of strong, grounded men who will positively influence their homes and communities.

The Heart Behind Our Team: Chifanaro’s Story

Our soccer boys had the privilege of walking alongside a young man named Chifanaro, whose courage deeply shaped our team. After battling cancer and losing his leg, he faced painful ridicule at school and long trips for treatment. But on the soccer field, everything changed. The boys welcomed him as one of their own, inviting him to help coach three times a week. There, he felt included, valued, and loved—exactly what we hope every child experiences in our programs. Sadly, Chifanaro passed away in late 2025, a heartbreaking loss for the entire team. In his honour, when we launched our soccer league in April 2026, we introduced the Chifanaro Scholarship, awarded each year to two outstanding players who demonstrate the same resilience, kindness, and leadership he showed. His legacy continues to inspire our boys and girls to lift one another and lead with compassion.
