Focus on Soy milk
Five days a week, together with Kolkata City Mission (KCM), we are providing soy milk for 500 children in Calcutta.
- Provides an excellent source of protein for the children
- Creates jobs for those working in the soy milk site
- Teaches hygiene, nutrition, and accountability
The next step will be to begin to sell the milk and become self-sustaining. We are currently working with KCM to market the milk in surrounding communities. See photos of the children enjoying the milk!
Giving hope to many communities!
Life Centre, Chennai, India
Christo and Sarah Emmanuel started the Living God Church in Chennai, India in 2006, growing from 3 people to over 200 members in 5 years. Most of the people they serve live below the poverty line and in very poor conditions, causing them to have little hope. We believe we can change this through the programs provided by Life Centres.
Each Life Centre offers:
- Daycare for Community Families
- Tailoring Classes for Women
- Water Stations
- Women's Events
- Tutoring Centres
- Seniors Day Program
- Youth Camps
Empowering Communities with Education!
Working with Mass Welfare Society in Calcutta, we are running seven preparatory schools in three urban slum areas. 474 children are attending these schools. Children, after receiving basic education from these schools, are mainstreamed into local schools where they continue their studies. Besides education, a daily lunch is provided and monthly health check-ups.
Vocational training is provided in area schools; the children are being instructed on various needle-related crafts. The classes are held once a week and more than 85 children attend.
Bible instruction is also offered at the schools on a weekly basis. The children learn Bible stories and songs, and special services are held for the students and all the staff.
