Summer Fun in Myanmar

Summer holidays in Myanmar come in February, March and April.  There are a lot of children to keep occupied and engaged.

Myanmar Faces Children's Centre has good news stories involving school success, and great summer programs.

In March, a 3 day Vacation Bible School program was held.

Flower arranging was also offered on 3 consecutive mornings.  Eighteen girls thoroughly enjoyed this. San Aung from Myanmar Campus Crusade was able to share his love of flowers and beauty, and his love of God and His direction in his life.

Two groups of children were able to have guitar lessons from Saya Lay Taw for several days.  Adding to the excitement was the addition of 2 new guitars.

April 13 - 17 ten of our youth ages 13 and up attended Garden Home Camp. They joined over 600 equally eager youth from other children's homes for the overnight fun and learning.

School success is a very important goal.  We were very pleased to see our pass rate exceed the national average.  Statistics are gathered from national exams taken by students in grade 5 and 9.  Our pass rate was 85%, where the national average is 76% in grade 5 and 54% in grade 9.

We are excited to offer a soccer camp for the boys. Our volunteer coach, Nick, is conducting drills, teaching soccer skills. telling his story, and building fun and friends.
