Let the tradition continue! Once again Ride for Refuge was the "work out" of choice for eager participants on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016. Stand as One brought 123 people to the event, in 4 different locations on the day.
A crazy group in Smithers (you will read the crazy later), walked and cycled to lead our group in donations. They raised $13,914.00 for our cause! The craziness commenced at their closing day BBQ, where an additional $500 was raised on a "jump in the lake" dare. What a super attitude.
Ft Langley was home to the largest number of riders and walkers, and all 98 rejoiced as the rain held off. The course offered snacks to eat, beautiful scenery and quiet roads, flat tires to change, smiles to be "forced" as Dan cycled by with the camera, and of course a filling and warming bowl of chili to reward us all at the end.
Richmond and Victoria bravely cycled on as well, adding to the incredible success of the day.
Keep those chains oiled gang, and lets do this all again next year!
